Fast X Trailer: Vin Diesel Takes On Jason Momoa In Fast And Furious 10
The First Fast X trailer puts Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious family in danger as they go up against Jason Momoa’s villainous Dante.
The moment all Fast and Furious fans have been waiting for has arrived. The official Fast X trailer has been released by Universal Pictures, giving fans their first look at the film, their favorite characters, and Jason Momoa’s villainous Dante. With just three months until the film premieres in theaters, this first action-packed trailer is the perfect tool to build hype.
The first Fast X trailer confirms the return of some of the most loved characters in the franchise, along with some fans haven’t seen in a few years. It was already confirmed that Momoa had joined the cast as the villain in the next installment, but this is the first time fans will see him in action, as the trailer primarily focuses on his intentions. However, what stands out is the way the trailer ties Momoa’s character to the history of the Fast and Furious franchise and even brings Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner into the fold.
The Fast X trailer begins where F9 ended, with Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto having a meal with his family, which has always been a big part of the franchise. With this installment, Toretto worries about “losing someone [he] loves.” This is where Momoa’s Dante comes into the picture, as he wants revenge for what Toretto did to his family in the past. A scene from Fast Five plays where Toretto and O’Conner dragged an entire safe across a highway, seemingly killing Dante’s family members. Dante is related to crime lord Hernan Reyes, the main villain in the fifth installment.
In typical Fast and Furious fashion, the trailer is loaded with cars, explosions, and several mentions of “family.” Apart from Momoa, the trailer also introduces Brie Larson’s Tess. Fans have theorized for months that Larson’s character is O’Conner’s sister, and the trailer does support it to an extent. She is one of the good guys on Toretto’s side, but will Captain Marvel be enough to stop Aquaman? Time will tell. The Fast X trailer also brings back John Cena’s Jakob, Toretto’s estranged brother, and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, after he ventured off with Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs for a bit.
It seems like the franchise is coming full circle, as the Fast X trailer also focuses on the racing aspect, which was the crux of the entire Fast and Furious franchise when it first began. Bringing some of the most important characters back also means that the journey toward the franchise’s ending has started. And for the filmmakers to include Walker’s O’Conner in the trailer and film is a nice touch, as he is now a part of the installments that bring the franchise to an end.
